Another final year senior high school student has died in the Western Region of Ghana. The 21-year-old student of Gwiraman Senior High School passed on Wednesday, 15 July 2020, after he was rushed to Essikado Hospital. According to the mother of young Nathaniel Yankey, the school of the lad is to be blamed for his sudden death.
In an interview with 3news.com, the mother of Nathaniel said her son called on Saturday, 11 July, complaining of illness. She further narrated that the teachers of the school refused to send her son to the hospital, adding it was friends of her son who sent him to Essikado Hospital.
Mena Adjoa Esson also stated that she received a call from a teacher from the school asking her to come for her sick son. “So I asked him, so you being a teacher, what have you done about it? Haven’t you heard of what happened in Kumasi? It’s all over the airwaves, Connect FM has even reported.
“But he responded that Nat’s friends had sent him to the hospital.” She continued the narration saying she called her son who was now on admission at the hospital to enquire how he was doing. Nathaniel then told his mum he has been given some paracetamol by the hospital.
